The Offerstrideway story

Named for the walk, not the motorway.

Matuhi Rise is a short residential street in Henderson. The hotel takes its name from that last stretch on foot — a stride between the car and a made bed, with the Waitākere foothills sitting west of the windows. We keep the house small so the desk still knows who is arriving.

What is actually here.

The usual hotel promises, written as facts. Breakfast and parking are arranged when you book — we do not pretend they appear by magic.

Linen, blackout, quiet.

Decent mattresses, curtains that actually close, and a street that goes still after nine. That is the product.

Bathroom with stone basin, brass tap and linen towels in daylight

About the house

A desk that still picks up.

We are a small hotel, not a chain with a script. If you need a late arrival, a quieter room, or a note on where to eat on Lincoln Road, ask. The answer comes from someone who works here.

West Auckland

Henderson, 0612.

Out the door

A working town with a ridgeline.

Henderson is shops, kitchens and the Corban Estate brickwork — then, twenty minutes west, the Waitākere Ranges. Stay here if you want Auckland without staying in it.

Neighbourhood notes

From people who stayed

“Quiet enough to sleep. Close enough to Lincoln Road that we did not need a plan.”

— PRIYA S. / WELLINGTON

“The Corner gets morning light on two sides. We left later than we meant to, which is the point.”

— TOM H. / CHRISTCHURCH

“They answered the phone. That should not be notable. It was.”

— ELLEN M. / MELBOURNE
