Sunday
Corban Estate
The old winery brickwork, now studios and a slow walk through gardens. Useful when the weather is decent and nobody wants a mall.
West Auckland
Matuhi Rise is residential. Two minutes in the car you are in the town centre; twenty minutes west you are in the Waitākere Ranges. We send guests to places we actually use — not a list copied from a visitor bureau.

When it is fine
West of Henderson, not a postcard from the hotel window. Ask at the desk which track is open; we do not send people into mud for the sake of it.
Dinner without driving into the city. Mix of kitchens, none of which we are paid to name. Ask for last night’s table if you want a specific plate.
Shared paths along the waterways. Good for a morning that does not require hiking boots. The desk can point you at the nearest entrance.
What we actually say
Henderson is a working town. Come for the bed and the Ranges, not for a waterfront promenade that does not exist here.
The city centre is a drive, not a stroll. If your meetings are on Queen Street every day, say so when you book — we will still take you, with eyes open.
Corban Estate on a dry afternoon beats another hour in the car. That is the local habit.
Tracks in the Waitākere close. We check before we send you. Bring a jacket even in January.
